Pastel 

The Artwork: This pastel was acquired in July 2003 through the Ira C. Peterson Memorial & Friends. The piece is hung in the Edina Public Library.

The Artist: William Saltzman (1916-2006) was a Minneapolis artist whose work graces churches and institutions throughout the Midwest. Saltzman is known for using many mediums from stained glass to copper to two dimensional art. Saltzman was always fascinated with light, color, shape and texture. He taught at several colleges including Macalester College for 17 years. He retired from teaching in 1983 as Professor Emeritus.
